So I started to draft up this post to pay homage to one of my favorite subjects on this site…several weeks ago. Then I got sidetracked as always. It’s been WAAAY too long since I’ve done a Fun Photo Friday…so why wait one more day? Since it’s been a while, there are a few. A nice recap of the past few months
So I went to the best Halloween party ever this past Halloween…most girls use this opporunity to live out their fantasy alter-egos…an opportunity for trying out those fake eyelashes and too much makeup. I, however, coudn’t resist being the joke of the party by dressing up as Kate Gosselin (pre-hair extensions). Though I am very proud of my costume, I have to give props to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry who were SPITTING images!
And of course there can be no Kate without a Jon. I love the attention to detail…AND the fact that he let me put leg make-up on his FACE in order to produce a more Hawaiin-esque complexion
If my husband ever decides he’s no longer attracted me, I guess I’ll have no reason to question. If Kate Gosselin get-up isn’t a deal-breaker, maybe sporting THIS look isn’t totally out of the question??!
I look like I’m getting ready to conduct a Dork Symphony. BUT in actuality, we were glass-blowing. You can see my beautiful specimen lying on the table to my right. It was actually really fun. Even if it involved doing things that made me look like this:
In honor of keeping with the theme of me looking silly, let’s do one more. I’m sure most of you remember the Great Blizzard of 2010 this past winter. Or maybe it was 2011. I can’t remember. Either way, it was a DOOZy. As our neighbors calmly walked up and down their driveways with their fancy snowblowers, my hubby and I (new to outdoor maintenance), decided to tackle the problem with our snow shovels. Do you all remember the iconic painting American Gothic?
Well we were the winter version:
Don’t be fooled…I wasn’t trying to be funny. Tackling 8 feet snow with a 5-dollar broom is serious business.
OK Moving on to my kiddos…
So my5 year old daughter and recently-turned four year old son are really the best of friends. This is both good and bad. Good because they get along really well and play SO GREAT together. Bad because they get along really well and play SO GREAT together:
To counter that picture, here’s one where Gray is being ALL BOY:
I am pretty sure his Daddy taught him that one.
So one of the kids favorite places is Wisconsin Dells. We went there this past spring. They actually spent a LARGE portion of their time in the arcade. Two things in life I think are a giant waste of money: casinos and arcades. So you can imagine my delight when Mackenna spun the Bob Barker ticket wheel and hit the jackpot. It’s like a one in a million chance. So I had to take my own “I just won the Wisconsin Lottery” pic.
And finally, I leave you with this video. Garrett will be two years old next month. As you’ve read in other posts, the pacifier is something my kids’ pediatrician strongly discourages. We took Grayson’s at 18 months which was pretty good. Garret is apparently, in NO WAY, heading in that direction. This was intended to be a video of Gray singing but well…
